The Best Beauty Looks in the Universe: ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Premiere

Last night in Hollywood was one of the biggest spectacles of the year — and we’re not even talking about the actual movie. At the premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Stormtroopers descended upon the red carpet and stars like Lupita Nyong’o, Sofia Vergara, and Maria Menounos wore intergalactic Princess Leia-inspired hairdos. Carrie Fisher who of course originated the look as Princess Leia, opted out of redoing the look instead going for simple, straight hair. Red carpet fixtures like Zendaya Coleman and Sarah Hyland gave themselves intergalactic makeovers with metallic stardust eye makeup, while singer and well known sci-fi geek Janelle Monae rocked her signature long braid and cosmically glowing skin. The generations of Star Wars men on the red carpet, from Harrison Ford to Mark Hamill to Oscar Isaac to Adam Driver (yes, of Girls), kept their looks classic and simple—and we’re okay with that, because last night proved that Star Wars was never just for the boys.
