Caitlyn Jenner Learns About Makeup in New Reality Show

“So many people go through life and never deal with their issues,” begins Caitlyn Jenner in the one-minute clip of her new forthcoming reality show on E!, I Am Cait. In the video, she applies makeup while commenting on what she’s learned about being a woman so far. “You start learning kind of the pressure that women are under all the time about their appearance,” she narrates. “I actually had a professional come in and do my makeup. What a difference!” Like a true Kardashian, Jenner’s enviable cheekbones are sculpted by expert contouring, and we even see her powder her face and put on a fresh coat of pink lip gloss in the clip.

On Tuesday, The Daily Show host Jon Stewart contributed his thoughts on the world’s reactions to Jenner: “It’s really heartening to see that everyone is willing to not only accept Caitlyn Jenner as a woman, but to waste no time in treating her like a woman.” He further remarked, “Caitlyn, when you were a man, we could talk about your athleticism, your business acumen, but now you’re a woman, and your looks are really the only thing we care about.” As Stewart notes, being a woman isn’t just about highlighting your cheekbones — it comes with baggage, pressures, and expectations that dig at you from daily scrutiny. Jenner is lucky in that she will have a show of her own to carry her voice, message, and story across.

“It’s so bright out there! Look at that. Isn’t it great that someday you’ll be normal?” Jenner asks herself in the truck as she and a few companions drive “out into the world.” “You are normal,” says her friend.

“Put it this way: I’m the new normal,” Jenner replies with a confident smile, as the sun basks down on her face. Jenner’s oldest four children from her two marriages prior to Kris Kardashian have refused to be in her new show, but judging from this video teaser and from social media, Jenner has plenty of support from friends and family — and we’re not just talking about beauty advice.
