Color-Changing Hair Dye Is the Coolest Thing on Instagram Right Now

Picking a single hair color isn’t easy. And once you’ve committed to a shade, you usually have to stick with it until your next color session. But not anymore. Hair-care company Pravana teased a color-changing hair dye on the brand’s Instagram page on March 21.

Pravana released three cool videos that looked like magic happening right before our eyes. For the first video, we see a woman with straight, tri-colored hair and a braid as she goes from having purple streaks to bright pink ones in seconds, with the help of a little heat from a hair dyer. The second video used the same technique and took short sideswept bangs from pink to a bright lime green. The last video shows green highlights transform into bright yellow ones on braided hair.

This is one of the most trippy phenomena on social media right now, but it’s not the first time the hair-care company has taken a shot at shaking things up in the hair color world. To refresh your memory, Pravana was also the same brand that launched the Blonde Wand, which is a thermal hair-color lightening tool that allows you to easily lift hair by using the unique iron.

Also, just a few short months ago, a U.K.-based brand, the Unseen, revealed its “Fire” dye, which changes colors based on the temperature around you.

No firm date has been set for Pravana’s latest launch, but we’ll be sure to keep a close watch, since this is sure to be a game-changer.
