Get Her Look: Reese Witherspoon

Reese Witherspoon can be relied upon to look like, well, Reese Witherspoon on every red carpet. No surprises, but the very definition of the word “pretty” without being boring. Nexxus New York hairstylist Lona Vigi worked with the star/producer to create another classic Reese look for the Oscars red carpet.

“The dress was ruffled and pretty and a statement in itself, so we all decided to keep the hair pretty simple and pretty sleek, smooth and sophisticated — stylish and a little bit edgy,” Vigi told Yahoo Beauty. To keep something that sleek and smooth all night long, Witherspoon needed the help of a few products.

Vigi began by blow-drying Witherspoon’s hair with a GHD paddle brush. “It kind of acts as an iron,” she explained. Then she mixed two Nexxus products, the Extra Gel and Oil Infinite. “I like to use that because the gel gives it a little bit of style and keeps it in movement … the oil adds a little bit of shine and sleekness. So I put a little bit throughout the top and around the sides to keep the hair back and to keep the deep side part in her hair.”

Next she used the GHD Platinum Performance Styler flat iron. “And then I finished it with the Nexxus oil infinite and gel, just a teeny tiny bit of gel and mostly oil, and I worked it through.”

Finally, to keep those bangs in place and hair behind Witherspoon’s ears, Vigi sprayed Nexxus Maximum Mist hairspray all over.

“She likes to look pretty and done, that’s what we did,” Vigi said.
