NYFW Trend: Dark Lips are Back for Fall

Dark lips on the runway at Marchesa, Marc Jacobs, and Phillip Lim (BFA/Imaxtree).

After a season full of nude lip colors, it was a breath of fresh air to see dark, velvety lip shades back on the runway for fall 2015. The good news is you don’t have to wait until fall to start wearing a rich, creamy lip—it’s the perfect look to go with this cool winter weather.

For the Phillip Lim show, Francelle Daly created a rich oxblood lip (inspired by the color of Doc Martens in the 1990s) to give models a cool, punk look. To get the look now, try using Nars Mysterious Red Velvet Matte Lip Pencil.
