Reporting From the Front Lines at London Fashion Week
I’ve covered New York Fashion Week for over 10 years, but the European stretch of fashion month? The shows in London, Milan, and Paris? They were as foreign as the cities. This season, I had the chance to hop on a red eye flight to London on the last day of New York Fashion Week to cover the colorful, quirky, up-and-coming fashion scene in the British capital. From ‘90s raver-inspired models posing in underground graffiti-adorned tunnels to hunting for vintage collectables on Portobello Road, London proved to be an incredibly inspiring backdrop for the spring 2015 collections. Getting to meet fashion icon Vivienne Westwood—and help style hair backstage at her show—was a dream come true. Here are the highlights of my action-packed four-day journey to London Fashion Week, which wrapped up on Tuesday, September 16.
