Vogue Paris Dubs Kendall Jenner a Supermodel

For Vogue Paris’ October issue, the magazine is offering readers a choice of four amazing covers featuring three iconic faces Kate Moss, Christy Turlington, and Gisele Bundchen. There’s also fashion newbie, Kendall Jenner. The covers celebrate the fashion bible’s 95th anniversary while making a pretty big statement about Jenner’s career. “Four supermodel faces, four emblematic visual bylines, four collector’s editions to mark a milestone,” the magazine posted on Instagram about the special issue. Jenner has been in the public eye for years thanks to Keeping up with the Kardashians, but only made her runway debut in 2014 and has since scored an ad campaign for Fendi and a beauty contract with Estée Lauder, which is apparently enough to qualify for supermodel status.

Turlington was part of the original supermodel gang of the 1990s that included Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, and Linda Evangelista. These women became household names after appearing on dozens of runways, starring in commercials, fronting ad campaigns, and snagging hundreds of magazine covers. Moss burst onto the scene in the early 90s when the runway model ideal shifted from a more athletic build to the heroin chic look. Her ads for Calvin Klein turned her into a bonafide supermodel overnight. Bundchen joined the scene in 1997 when she moved to New York City from her native Brazil and despite announcing her retirement from the catwalk earlier this year, she just landed the number one spot on Forbes Highest Paid Models List for 2015.

Jenner isn’t blind to the significance of landing a cover among this group of women. In a post on her Instagram she wrote, “what is happening?! I’m so honored to be placed next to these beautiful women that have been my inspiration this entire ride. I THINK IM DREAMING.” Vogue Paris is rarely wrong, so we think this cover is a sign that Jenner is destined for fashion greatness.
