Leslie Jones isn’t afraid to speak her mind. Last month, the Ghostbusters star took fashion designers to task who wouldn’t dress her because of her size. Now, the comedian is calling out racist and sexist Internet trolls.
On Monday, Jones announced on Twitter that she was going to stop blocking the nasty messages she’s been receiving online, and the result is horrifying.
“OK, I have been called Apes, sent pics of their asses, even got a pic with semen on my face. I’m tryin to figure out what human means. I’m out,” she wrote. “You know I’m gonna stop blocking so y'all can go through my feed yourself and see the bs. You won’t believe the evil. It’s f***ing scary.”
Scary — and disturbing — is right. Some messages were cruel and downright mean.

Many were racist, comparing Jones to the gorilla, Harambe, that was killed after a child fell into his enclosure at a Cincinnati zoo.

There are more that are even worse and simply too inappropriate to post here … but you can go to Jones’ timeline if you want to see them for yourself.
While there certainly is plenty of hate to go around, fans have been tweeting the Saturday Night Live star messages of support since she lifted the Twitter curtain.
“The vile racist s*** being thrown at @Lesdoggg rn is making me wanna set s*** on fire. Why is @twitter @support not doing their job?!” one follower commented.
More followed suit:
Reading @Lesdoggg’s timeline disgusted by people’s ignorance. It’s sad how immoral + cruel people become behind an avatar + a fake name ??

@Lesdoggg 9/10 time it’s an angry racist with an anime avi because they’re too cowardly to show their face. Pay them no mind. ??

The all-female Ghostbusters reboot was the biggest launch for a live-action comedy since Pitch Perfect 2 in May 2015, so it looks like Jones and her co-stars are having the last laugh.
