It wasn’t a nice, relaxing weekend for Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O’Connell — or their neighbors in Calabasas, Calif.

The couple, who reside in the city located northwest of downtown Los Angeles and popularized by the Kardashians, found themselves forced from their home, where they live with their 7-year-old twin daughters, as a 516-acre brush fire swept through the area on Saturday and 400 firefighters worked to contain it. The Librarians actress, 43, shared photos of the blaze — dubbed “Old Fire” due to its proximity to Old Topanga Canyon Road — on Instagram and they were clearly in the thick of things. They were among the 5,000 people forced to evacuate their homes.

The first photo Romijn posted showed fires raging by their driveway.

A snapshot taken the next day showed charred land.

Here’s another one showing the damage.

Her last post, another shot showing the extensive damage, was more of a plea to Mother Nature.

A rep for Romijn tells Yahoo that they still don’t have access to their home. Also, a toy belonging to their daughters helped them fight the flames. “Jerry used this sprinkler we got for our girls to put out hot spots all over our property,” Rebecca says. “These worms (in addition to the brave first responders) are our heroes.”

The fire broke out on Saturday afternoon in the suburb when a pickup truck struck a power pole at 4:15 p.m. local time. Temperatures were in the mid-90s earlier in the day and that dry heat didn’t help.

About 3,700 homes were evacuated, but that order was lifted on Sunday evening at 6 p.m. when 80 percent of the fire had been contained. One commercial structure was destroyed along with four sheds, according to the City of Calabasas website, but no residences were damaged or destroyed. At least three firefighters were injured, but their injuries were considered minor.

Romijn — who married O’Connell outside on their Calabasas property back in the summer of 2007 — wasn’t the only celebrity to post about the blaze. Kylie Jenner, who lives there along with her Keeping Up With the Kardashians fam, posted some Snapchat videos of the smoke and flames.

In one, Kylie sounds annoyed, asking if she’ll have to evacuate.

Another shows the smoke over her new home.

Her sisters Khloé and Kourtney Kardashian were less irritated and posted thank-you messages to firefighters — as did Melissa Etheridge, Denise Richards, Eric Benet, Tom Bergeron, and Sean Astin.

Meanwhile, Ellen DeGeneres shared a photo of her brother-in-law, who was one of the rescue workers, and gave a shout-out to all the emergency responders.

They certainly deserve it.
