The 10 biggest concerts in (or near) Cincinnati in July
Summer is here, and with it comes the best opportunities for seeing some epic live performances. We've eyeballed the concert calendar for shows that will provide a lot of entertainment for your hard-earned dollar. And hey, if you're flush with cash, there are also some sold-out shows listed here, too – where the only tickets available are via the resale market. (There's always a way if you're willing to pay!)
Here's a look at 10 of the tastiest shows coming up in July.
July 5: Red Hot Chili Peppers 'Unlimited Love Tour'
Red Hot Chili Peppers were a staple of college radio throughout the 1980s, but it wasn't until 1989's "Mother's Milk" that the rest of the world cottoned on to their unique combination of funk and punk rock. Since then, they've become a must-see live band that always gives fans their money's worth. DOMi & JD Beck open the show.

July 13: Luke Bryan 'Mind of a Country Boy Tour'
This country music star and American Idol celebrity judge is a five-time Entertainer of the Year, being awarded by both the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music Awards. Opening acts are Alana Springsteen, Larry Fleet and Dillon Carmichael.

July 20: 311 'Unity Tour'
Omaha's 311 mixes rock, rap, reggae and funk into its own unique hybrid. The band kicks off its Unity Tour in Cincinnati, playing the outdoor stage at Hard Rock Casino with special guests Awolnation and Neon Trees.

July 22: S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Festival
This new traveling blues festival is the brainchild of Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash and accompanies his latest blues album "Orgy of the Damned." The festival name is an anagram for Solidarity, Engagement, Restore, Peace, Equality, N' Tolerance. A portion of every ticket benefits Equal Justice Initiative, Know Your Rights Camp, the Greenlining Institute and War Child. The tour features Slash, Keb' Mo', ZZ Ward and Jackie Venson.

July 24: Tate McRae 'Think Later Tour'
Multi-platinum singer/songwriter Tate McRae was named Artist of the Year at this year's Juno Awards, and her single "Greedy" won Single of the Year. Her current tour is selling out everywhere, including here in Cincinnati, with the only available tickets via the resale market. Presley Regier opens.

July 24: Alanis Morissette 'Triple Moon Tour'
Canadian singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette's career skyrocketed after Los Angeles radio station KROQ-FM began playing her single "You Oughta Know," which featured LA musicians Flea and Dave Navarro of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Her brilliant songwriting and style kept her 1995 album "Jagged Little Pill" on the Billboard 200 albums chart for over a year and, to this day, is one of the biggest-selling albums by a female artist. Joan Jett & the Blackhearts and Morgan Wade provide support.

July 25: Foo Fighters 'Everything or Nothing at All Tour'
Dave Grohl and Co. are out on a stadium tour this summer, and he never forgets the cities that helped to break both Foo Fighters and his previous band, Nirvana. The show at GABP features support from The Pretenders and Mammoth WVH.

July 25-27: Cincinnati Music Festival
The Queen City's major music festival is a three-day downtown party that brings in some of the biggest names in R&B and hip-hop. Thursday: MC Lyte, EPMD, KRS-One, Black Sheep. Friday: Maxwell, Ne-Yo, Fantasia, October London, The Original Lakeside. Saturday: New Edition featuring Bobby Brown, Bell Biv DeVoe, Ralph Tresvant and Johnny Gill, KEM, Coco Jones, En Vogue and Stokley.

July 26-28: Nelsonville Music Festival
After a scenic, chill drive from Cincinnati to Athens County, get ready for an amazing three days of music. Artists appearing include Killer Mike, Courtney Barnett, Thee Sacred Souls, Indigo De Souza, Amyl & the Sniffers, Michael Hurley, Bonnie Prince Billy, Seun Kuti & Egypt 80, The Nude Party, Bob Mould, The Felice Brothers, The Heavy Heavy, Joanna Sternberg and dozens more.

Kit yourself out in dayglo neon, throw on some fun sunglasses and, like, be totally tubular for a day. This '80s new wave tour features Thomas Dolby, Thompson Twins' Tom Bailey, Modern English, Men Without Hats, Wang Chung, Bow Wow Wow, Tommy Tutone and The Plimsouls' Eddie Munoz.
