18 Larry David Moments That Made Him The Undisputed Master Of "Seinfeld"
As the co-creator of Seinfeld, Larry David is hands down one of the greatest comedic forces of our time.
Not only did he write for the show, but he also made multiple memorable appearances that proved he was a master of comedy. Let's grab our puffy shirts and Pez dispensers because we're taking a look at the 18 best Larry David moments on Seinfeld.
18.Sports Commentator
17.Greenpeace Member
When the president of NBC becomes obsessed with Elaine, he joins Greenpeace to win her over. He is last seen at the end of the Season 4 finale riding a raft with Larry David's character, talking about Elaine, but when the former sinks in the ocean, David swears that he'll write to her to tell her what he did. While it's not a particularly funny role, it was crazy to see him and Bob Balaban as members of Greenpeace.
16.Flaming Globes of Sigmund
In the strange subplot to the episode "The Heart Attack," Jerry wakes up in the middle of the night and writes down a joke about a sci-fi B-movie he had watched. The film in question featured Larry David as an actor dressed in a cheap costume and going full ham as he watches his fictional planet burn. The movie itself looks terrible, but if Larry David starred in an entire film like this, I think we'd all watch it.
15.Saddam Hussein Lookalike
In the classic "Dinner Party" episode, we see Kramer's car has been blocked in by a double parker, who George likens to a dictator. Amazingly, the parker in question looks a lot like Saddam Hussein, but he talks to George and Kramer with a British accent voiced by David.
14.The Carjacker
13.Prison Inmate
12.The Man on the Beach
11.Newman
Newman is arguably Seinfeld's best side character, one who is worthy of being the main group's fifth member. But you may be surprised to learn that he wasn't always played by Wayne Knight. Newman made his first appearance in Season 2, Episode 7, and though he was never seen onscreen, he was voiced by Larry David.
10.The Man in the Cape
In the Season 6 episode "The Chinese Woman," David stars as one of Seinfeld's most bizarre characters: Frank Costanza's lawyer. Sporting black shades and a matching cape, the man is a walking question mark through the entire episode. But his strangest scene comes when he saves Elaine's friend from jumping off the Brooklyn Bridge, only saying that he's Frank Costanza's lawyer like she's supposed to know who he is.
9.George Meets Steinbrenner
8.Billy Martin
7.The Hot Tub
When George is caught cursing at his foul-mouthed friends from Texas, Steinbrenner worries he's under too much stress and suggests he use a hot tub. And so, both men sit in a hot tub together at the end of the episode, with George having a terrible time as his boss rambles on even when he's underwater.
6.Steinbrenner Wears Lou Gehrig's Pants
5.Steinbrenner Waits in George's Office
4.The Calzone
3.Steinbrenner Meets the Costanzas
2.Disarming the Bomb
1.Steinbrenner Has George Committed
