2024 CMA Awards nominations list: Morgan Wallen leads with 7
The 58th Annual Country Music Association Awards take place on November 20 at 8:00pm Eastern on ABC, and the nominations have officially been announced. Scroll down to see the complete list.
Morgan Wallen leads the way with seven nominations. He’s followed by Cody Johnson and Chris Stapleton with five, while Post Malone and Lainey Wilson picked up four. This was Malone’s first foray into country music, and it proved successful. Mysteriously, Beyonce wasn’t received as warmly; she and her “Cowboy Carter” crossover album were snubbed entirely.

Wallen, Stapleton and Wilson are up for Entertainer of the Year, joined by Luke Combs and Jelly Roll who have three nominations apiece. Wilson was the surprise winner in 2023, making her the first woman in 12 years to take the prize. Before her Taylor Swift prevailed in 2009 and 2011, and if Wilson wins again she will join Swift and Barbara Mandrell on the very, very short list of women who have won the award twice. The all-time record-holder is Garth Brooks, who prevailed seven times, most recently in 2019.
