The Television Academy said the telecast will air live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles for over three hours starting at 8 p.m. ET. This marks the Emmys returning to its regular September scheduling for the second year. The 2023 ceremony was pushed back due to the dual strikes by Hollywood writers and actors. That show aired in January 2024.
The Television Academy will unveil the 2025 Emmy nominations on July 15. The host and producers have not yet been announced. The Emmys telecast, which is set to air live across the country, will follow the pre-taped Creative Arts Emmy Awards, with ceremonies produced by the Television Academy on Sept. 6 and 7.
In addition to airing on CBS, the 2025 Emmys will also stream live for Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers as they access the live feed of their local CBS affiliate on the service, as well as on demand.
Last year, the 2024 Emmys saw FX’s Shogun dominate the best drama categories. Hacks emerged as the surprise winner for best comedy over The Bear, which did collect four other big wins, including acting trophies for castmembers Jeremy Allen White, Liza Colon-Zayas and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, while Christopher Storer won the best comedy series directing prize.
Elsewhere, Baby Reindeer nabbed four wins, including best limited or anthology series, while Richard Gadd was named best actor in a limited or anthology series and collected the writing Emmy in the genre.
