2025 SAG Awards: All the Best-Dressed Stars
SAG Awards 2025 style truly ran the gamut Sunday night at the Shrine Auditorium, from chic and largely unadorned gowns to classic elegance among men and a few looks in which feathers and fringe ruled.
Among the men and women who excelled with their style choices during Sunday’s ceremony at the Shrine Auditorium, Shogun’s Anna Sawai brought modern drama in Giorgio Armani Privé, while Colman Domingo made classic look new in his Valentino ivory dinner jacket. Trends, meanwhile, leaped out early in the evening, beginning with the pink and peach hues that dominated the color palette of women’s gowns to a crazy degree, from Millie Bobby Brown in custom Louis Vuitton to Sofia Carson’s Elie Saab look and Jane Fonda, who wowed the audience with her speech while also wearing Armani Privé.
More from The Hollywood Reporter
The chief men’s trend was classic elegance, notably in the appearance of white or ivory dinner jackets, worn by Colman Domingo and Benito Skinner, as well as the traditional black tuxes seen on Adrien Brody, Colin Farrell and others. Women also embraced tuxedo-inspired looks, including Zooey Deschanel, Wendie Malick and Sheryl Lee Ralph. At the other end of the spectrum, feather and fringe embellishments were key, from Jamie Lee Curtis in Dolce & Gabbana to the lush fringe detailing on Cynthia Erivo’s vintage Givenchy gown.
Amid so many stellar looks, it was a challenge to narrow the list to 12 examples of outstanding style. Here’s who excelled with looks that combined stunning design with exceptional fit and, whether it was subtle or overt, terrific detailing.
Sofia Carson in Elie Saab
As one of the night’s SAG Awards ambassadors, Carson was among the evening’s earliest arrivals, reflecting one of the event’s biggest trends among women while also exuding old-Hollywood glamour. From Elie Saab’s spring/summer 2025 haute-couture collection, Carson’s sculptural gown was crafted in peony pink silk and highlighted an asymmetric necklace that wrapped around and led to a dramatic shoulder train. Carson paired the look with a multi-row necklace showcasing more than 88 carats of diamonds and a diamond ring, both by Chopard, and Jimmy Choo’s Dahl platform sandals.
Selina Gomez in Celine
The actress and producer of Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building often creates showstopping moments on red carpets, even when her intent may be to appear a bit understated. That felt like the vibe Gomez was going for at the SAG Awards, where she wore a deep navy silk gown with a shawl neckline and high slit, a custom design by Hedi Slimane for Celine. The look was quiet, refined and quite simply beautiful, perfectly paired with sleek hair, Messika diamond jewels and a classic red lip. Gomez finished her look with Jimmy Choo’s strappy and minimalist Inge sandals.
Jane Fonda in Giorgio Armani Privé
Viewers anticipated — indeed, hoped — that Jane Fonda would use her moment accepting her SAG Life Achievement Award to speak her mind about the current state of America, and she did not disappoint. As anyone also has said about the icon anytime recently, she looks quite amazing at 87 years old, and that was equally true at the SAGs, where she wore a custom Giorgio Armani Privé long-sleeve coral silk gown that was fully embroidered with sequins and black beading. Among the gown’s terrific details was the skirt, which featured tiered fringe beading in black and coral and moved beautifully. Fonda’s look was finished with jewels by Pomellato.
Benito Skinner in Ralph Lauren
The star of the upcoming Overcompensating on Amazon Prime Video kicked off the night’s chief trend among men, wearing a white dinner jacket as part of an impeccably tailored look by Ralph Lauren. From head to toe, the fit was quite simply perfection.
Cynthia Erivo in Givenchy
The Wicked star and best actress nominee has excelled with fashion-forward looks throughout the 2025 awards season (and prior, during the film’s press run and premieres), and her look for the SAG Awards only inspired thoughts of how she’ll top it at the March 2 Oscars. Erivo chose a vintage Givenchy look from fall/winter 1997, designed by Alexander McQueen during his tenure as the house’s creative director. Erivo’s gown is crafted of silver plaited raffia that’s been fringed at the neck, sleeves and hem. Rings and earrings in white and yellow diamonds and emeralds by Bucherer Fine Jewellery and Christian Louboutin’s Custom Hot Chick beaded pumps finished the look.
Jodie Foster in Gucci
Not unlike Gomez, sometimes simplicity just works, and that was also the case with Jodie Foster at the SAGs, nominated for her role in HBO’s True Detective. Foster wore head-to-toe Gucci, consisting of a custom chocolate-hued sleeveless Gucci gown fully embellished with beaded fringe, accessorized with gold bamboo cuff bracelets and black platforms sandals. Foster’s arms are somewhat envious, and the gown allowed them to shine.
Colman Domingo in Valentino
On pretty much every red carpet, he’s dapper, he’s stylish, he’s fashion-forward — and on more than one occasion, a terrific blend of all three. That was true of Colman Domingo’s look at the SAG Awards, a custom Valentino look created for the Sing Sing star by creative director Alessandro Michele, highlighting an ivory dinner jacket with satin lapels over black tuxedo pants, and thoughtfully accessorized with a silk fringed scarf. Domingo finished the look with Swarovski jewels.
Adrien Brody in Louis Vuitton
Among all the men who opted for elegant looks at the SAG Awards, The Brutalist‘s Adrien Brody really hit it out of the park in fit and detail. His custom Louis Vuitton tuxedo was classic from head to toe, starting with his single-breasted tuxedo jacket with peak lapels, paired with a crisp white shirt and black bow tie, slim tuxedo trousers and sleek black derbies. Ultimately it’s a look that was tailored to perfection and will feel just as terrific no matter when he revisits this awards-season run.
Ariana Grande in Loewe
Alongside Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande has excelled with red-carpet looks that feel both unique and distinctly connected to both the actress and her character. Grande’s pale pink silk bustier gown by Loewe featured a draped neckline and feather flower embroideries. She paired the dress with custom jewels featuring natural diamonds by Jared Atelier and shoes by Aldo.
Zoe Salda?a in Saint Laurent
With Saint Laurent Productions among the Emilia Pérez producers, Salda?a and her fellow cast have enjoyed wearing looks by Anthony Vaccarello, the house’s creative director, throughout the 2025 awards season. That included the SAG Awards, where Salda?a, a best supporting actress winner, looked sleek and modern in a velvet one-sleeve gown embellished with a crystal-accented ruffle at one shoulder.
Salda?a finished her look with Saint Laurent shoes and Cartier jewels.
Anna Sawai in Giorgio Armani Privé
Speaking of sleek and modern, SAG Award winner Anna Sawai looked fantastic in a custom two-tone gown by Giorgio Armani Privé, which featured a sculptural bodice fully embellished with red crystals, offset by a back in chic black silk velvet. Another detail revealed itself as Sawai exited the stage following her acceptance speech, showing as she walked that the gown was lined in red silk. She finished her look in Cartier diamond jewels and Christian Louboutin’s Amali Alta platform sandals.
Monica Barbaro in Dior
The night’s other power-red statement came courtesy of A Complete Unknown co-star Monica Barbara, who looked terrific in a lipstick-red belted crepe halter gown with a deep-V neckline by Dior. Diamond Serpenti jewels by Bulgari and Christian Louboutin’s Loubi Queen Alta platform sandal in red silk completed her look.
