Local Black History exhibition in West Palm Beach
In celebration of Black History Month, you can head to the Richard & Pat Johnson Palm Beach County History Museum in West Palm Beach during the last weekend of its exhibition, “More Than a Game: Champions in the Midst of Desegregation.” The exhibition showcases the bravery of the 1968 Roosevelt High School basketball team —the first all-Black school and the first team from Palm Beach County to win a Florida high school basketball championship.

Family workshop at Norton Museum of Art
Eager to take your little ones out this weekend? This Saturday, the Norton Museum of Art will host the family-friendly event, “BAM! Black Arts Movement.” This event is for children ages 5-12, and their accompanying grown-ups, to participate in a thematic tour, followed by a related art workshop. Families will be able to explore works by Black artists in the Norton collection, and encouraged to create some work of their own using similar techniques.

Saxophone quartet in Palm Beach
For those who’d like to enjoy an evening of chamber music this week, there’s a special performance in store for you! This Tuesday night, the Henry Morrison Flagler Museum continues its 2022 Music Series with a performance by the Deco Saxophone Quartet, a modern chamber ensemble from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami. A charming night of music surrounded by art and decorations of the Gilded Age makes for an excellent date night!
