35 of the most daring looks MCU stars have worn on the red carpet
The "Deadpool & Wolverine" premieres have provided some standout red-carpet looks.
Ever since the first MCU movie in 2008, stars have worn bold outfits to Marvel premieres.
Actors have used their looks at premieres to hide Easter eggs or pay homage to their characters.
"Deadpool & Wolverine" is shaping up to be one of the biggest hits of the summer.
When tickets first went on sale in May, Adam Aron, the CEO of AMC Theaters, wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter) that at least 200,000 fans purchased tickets in one day, "more Day 1 ticket sales at AMC than for any other R-rated movie ever."
Marvel movies, like "Deadpool & Wolverine," have become true event films, with the stars using their fashion at premieres to hide Easter eggs or pay homage to their characters. Or sometimes, they just pull out all the high-fashion stops and take risks on the carpet.
Emma Corin, one of the stars of "Deadpool," is just the latest to wow fans with their unusual style.
Here are some of the boldest, most daring looks worn at Marvel premieres throughout the years.
Starting off strong is Cobie Smulders at the Hollywood premiere of "The Avengers" in April 2012.
Smulders' dress featured a patchwork design with sequined copper accents and a plunging neckline. It was designed by Donna Karan.
In April 2013, at the LA premiere of "Iron Man 3," Gwyneth Paltrow chose a gown with wide mesh side panels.
Paltrow is a style icon, so it makes sense she never missed a chance to wow on the "Iron Man" red carpet … even if this Antonio Berardi dress caused some controversy at the time, with Paltrow herself telling Ellen DeGeneres she "went from being the most beautiful to the most humiliated" in the dress, Yahoo! Lifestyle reported.
Rachel McAdams wore an almost entirely sheer one-shoulder gown to a London "Doctor Strange" event in October 2016.
This black Elie Saab dress was encrusted with blue and silver doves. She also accessorized with a thick black belt and bold rings.
Lupita Nyong'o wore a deep-purple dress with eye-popping golden accents to the LA premiere of "Black Panther" in January 2018.
Nyong'o's stylist Micaela Erlanger told The Hollywood Reporter that they chose this Versace dress because it reminded them of Nyong'o's character, a powerful spy, in "Black Panther."
"There's definitely a nod to her warrior character Nakia here, without being costumey," said Erlanger. "It's a really glamorous take on our vision and it's very fierce, certainly."
Elizabeth Olsen's look at the April 2018 premiere of "Avengers: Infinity War" combined many different elements.
Olsen combined the masculine and the feminine when she wore this Oscar de la Renta jumpsuit, which featured a lacy corset top and slim trousers. A panel of satin attached an exaggerated train around her waist.
Evangeline Lilly also wore a daring jumpsuit to the "Infinity War" premiere, though hers was more colorful.
Lilly's marigold jumpsuit, designed by Zuhair Murad, featured a peplum waist up top and a deep-V neckline. It also had sheer panels and a few cutouts placed throughout.
Brie Larson chose a nude dress covered in starbursts, similar to her character's logo, for the "Captain Marvel" premiere in March 2019.
As reported by Vogue, this custom Rodarte gown featured crystal-beaded stars, a nod to Carol Danvers' uniform in the film.
Lashana Lynch attended the same premiere in a backless ice-blue gown.
Lynch's Jovani dress had delicate cap sleeves and seemingly randomly placed sequins all over.
Scarlett Johansson wore a deconstructed tuxedo at the UK premiere of "Avengers: Endgame" in April 2019.

This sequined gown Zendaya wore to the Hollywood premiere of "Spider-Man: Far From Home" in June 2019 was almost entirely backless.
This red-and-black color-blocked gown, designed by Armani Privé, was entirely covered in sequins and held together by two thin straps.
Of course, the color scheme was a nod to Spider-Man's iconic costume.
Florence Pugh went for edgy glam with this tie-front crop top at the UK "Black Widow" premiere in June 2021.

A few days later, Chan looked like the night sky itself in this crystal-covered hooded two-piece at the London premiere.
This look was designed by Zuhair Murad. It featured a crystalline black crop top with a hood, a matching high-waisted skirt with sheer panels on the thighs, and a large belt.
Hailee Steinfeld bared her abs at the LA premiere of "Hawkeye" in November 2021.
If you look closely at this Vera Wang ensemble, you'll see that the waistband was designed to make the skirt look like a pair of trousers.
In an obvious nod to Spidey himself, Zendaya chose a spiderweb dress for the December 2021 premiere of "Spider-Man: No Way Home."
This spiderweb dress, designed by Valentino, featured a thigh-slit, a plunging neckline, and no back. It looked as delicate as the spiderwebs it was covered in.
Rachel McAdams returned to the MCU in May 2022 in this sheer chartreuse gown at the "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" premiere.
This Elie Saab dress provided a pop of color at the "Multiverse of Madness" premiere. McAdams brought the drama with this gown that featured a billowing cape and an almost entirely sheer overlay covered in crystals.
Tessa Thompson wore an asymmetrical gown to the LA premiere of "Thor: Love and Thunder" in June 2022.
This chrome Armani dress featured a hip-baring cutout on the right side.
In July, Thompson attended the UK premiere in a crystal-covered distressed gown.

That brings us to "Deadpool & Wolverine." Emma Corrin made us question what season it was at the July 2024 UK premiere.
Corrin's Schiaparelli look is comprised of an oversize leather jacket with huge shoulder pads, gold buckles all over the sleeves, no shirt, and baggy trousers.
They went for the exact opposite look at the NYC premiere that month.
This high-cut bodysuit was designed by Harris Reed for Nina Ricci, and featured a furry off-the-shoulder wrap.
"We wanted a Katharine Hepburn–type waist silhouette situation," Corrin told Vanity Fair.
