5 Things You Didn't Know About ‘Married... With Children’ for its 30th Anniversary
Thirty years ago today, the rude, crude Bundy family burst onto the scene with Fox’s runaway hit Married… With Children. In honor of that pearl anniversary, we here at Yahoo TV put together a list of five things you may not know about the show.
1) It was Fox’s first primetime show, and is also the longest-running live-action show in the network’s history. It’s credited with making Fox a major destination for TV audiences.
2) Michael Richards might have been Al Bundy! He auditioned for the role, but it ended up going to Ed O’Neill.
3) The pilot episode’s working title was Not the Cosbys.
4) You can see the Griswold family station wagon from National Lampoon’s Vacation in the opening.
5) The show was initially pitched with Sam Kinison and Roseanne Barr as Al and Peggy Bundy.
