50 Cent Recounts Getting Arrested for Swearing in The Caribbean

On Wednesday’s Conan, 50 Cent explained his recent arrest in the Caribbean. The rapper was performing on the island of Saint Kitts, where the profanity laws are quite different. He explained, “They can play publicly the dirty version of your music but you can’t perform it because they say at that point you’re crossing the boundaries of public profanity.”

After his performance, he was greeted by a policeman, who asked “Mr. 50” to come with him. 50 Cent recalled his thoughts while sitting in the precinct: “I was sitting there in the Twilight Zone because I was like, ‘Am I here for singing a song?’ I was like, 'OK. This can’t be so bad.’ You know, then when they start telling you, 'We need your passports.’ Wait a minute. This is bad.”

50 Cent was released without harm, though it’s not likely he’ll be performing there any time soon.

Conan airs weeknights at 11 p.m. on TBS.
