6 Stars You Forgot Were on ‘Buffy’
Today marks the 20th anniversary of the premiere of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. And with all that time passed, you’ll be forgiven for forgetting how many stars appeared on the classic series early in their careers. Watch the video above to see six future stars that popped up in Sunnydale.
1. Amy Adams
Adams recently portrayed an alien translator in Arrival, but you may recognize the Oscar nominated star as Tara’s evil cousin Beth in the fifth season episode “Family.”
2. Pedro Pascal
Pascal is currently playing DEA Agent Javier Pe?a on Narcos, but one of his earliest roles was as Eddie, Buffy’s first college friend turned vampire in the Season 4 premiere, “The Freshman.”
3. Kal Penn
Years before Harold & Kumar (and a stint in the Obama administration), Buffy featured a young Penn as Hunt, a beer-loving college student who gets turned into a caveman in “Beer Bad.”
4. Wentworth Miller
Prison Break may have been Miller’s breakout role, but his very first TV appearance was in Buffy’s second season as Gage Petronzi, a member of the Sunnydale High Swim Team … who became a Gill Monster.
5. Ashanti
In 2003, the same year she won her Grammy for best Contemporary R&B Album, Ashanti was cast as Lissa, a demon who tried to sacrifice Xander in the Season 7 episode “First Date.”
6. Rachel Bilson
The O.C. was Bilson’s big break, but she got her start as the potential slayer — and Xander fantasy — Colleen in the Season 7 episode “Dirty Girls.”
These are just some of the stars who appeared on the series. Who was your favorite guest star? Let us know in the comments below.
