These short female celebrities don’t let their height stop them from having larger-than-life careers. Just like the many short male celebrities in Hollywood and beyond, what short stars like Reese Witherspoon and Stevie Nicks lack in height, they are definitely making up for in success.
According to data collected by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and U.S. National Health Survey between 2015 and 2018, the average height for American women 20 years and older is 5′ 3.5″ — which is just over 163 cm. So, to highlight some of the shortest celebrity women, we’ve made our cut-off 5′ 2″ or 157 cm.
With more accolades between them than we can count, these short celebrity women prove that there is nothing wrong with a below average height. Plenty of acting and singing megastars are short!
While the world of modeling may be overrun with women measuring in at 6 feet or taller, plenty of acting and singing megastars are short.
Since we typically see these ladies on screen or in our social media feeds and not in real life, we’re often surprised to find out just how petite some of these women are — and on the flip side, super-tall celebs often take us by surprise too (like when we found out Taylor Swift is actually 5 feet, 10 inches tall).
