Abby Elliott Was 'Quietly Surprised' When She Saw Her Costar Jeremy Allen White's Calvin Klein Ads

Speaking with PEOPLE on the 2024 Emmy Awards red carpet, the actress and comedian, 37, revealed how she reacted when she and the cast first saw her The Bear costar modeling in his skivvies and with his abs on full display for the iconic brand.
"We are all just like quietly, pleasantly surprised like everybody," she said. "Then, I didn’t realize there was going to be another one coming out. I opened Instagram and it was there and I was like, ‘Oh, wow, another one,' " she said of the actor, who she also referred to as her "brother."

The former Shameless star, 33, made his Calvin Klein debut in January with PEOPLE breaking out the sexy exclusive. He continued to solidify his internet-boyfriend status when he returned for the fall 2024 campaign, which had us all saying, "Yes, chef!"

White clearly looked like a natural-born heartthrob in his photos, but speaking to GQ ahead of the second campaign drop, he recalled being "so insecure" about shooting in his boxers, but grateful the spot was so well-received.
"When they put the billboard up on Houston, I woke up early that morning and I went with a buddy of mine who brought his camera and took it in before the public took it in. And that felt really wonderful and intimate, and like an achievement. It was still just mine in a really nice way. And then everybody else saw it in the weeks to come. For the most part people were excited about it, and that was cool and surprising."

Both Elliott and White attended the 2024 Emmys, but walked the red carpet separately.
Elliott, who posed on the carpet alongside her husband Bill Kennedy, wore a baby blue pleated gown with a sheer floor-length cape that wrapped around one of her shoulders, plus custom jewelry from Monique Lhuillier's collaboration with Kay Jewelers.
White who, early on in the night took home the award for outstanding actor in a comedy series, wore a suit and bow-tie.
