How Actress Tia Mowry Leans Into AI With Her Entrepreneurial Endeavors
Tia Mowry is venturing into the realm of artificial intelligence and wants to encourage others to explore its endless possibilities.
With decades of experience as an actress in Hollywood, Mowry has diversified her influence by inviting the world into her interests, using entrepreneurship as a vessel. She is the proud owner of haircare line 4U by Tia, which launched in 2023 across 2,800 Walmart retail stores in the U.S. and on Walmart.com, according to a press release.
4U by Tia’s products were made with the help of biotechnology company Amyris and are 100% vegan, silicone-free, sulfate-free, and paraben-free. The products cater to hair types ranging from 2A to 4C, which was an intentional decision by Mowry, who is also the mother of son Cree and daughter Cairo, both with different hair textures.
Beyond the haircare line, Mowry also has a passion for cooking, which is on full display on her YouTube channel, “Tia Mowry’s Quick Fix,” or in stores through her cookware line — Spice by Tia Mowry.
Meta AI
Recognizing social media’s importance in her entrepreneurship, Mowry maximizes its use to engage users further. She’s also tapped artificial intelligence (AI) to assist in this effort. She credits Meta AI, marketed as “the most intelligent AI assistant,” as a resource. Per Meta AI’s website, it allows users to retrieve information to help them create, connect, and learn. It can also be used on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger.
Recently, Mowry participated in a cooking challenge using Meta AI, inspired by the 2024 Olympics. Tia and Cree crafted recipes from Japan and Spain.
“What’s so cool about Meta AI is it’s easy to use,” Mowry told AFROTECH?. “You can use it on platforms that most of us, many already have... Even how I use it is just recently. I’m very into wellness, and I was like, ‘Okay, what are some great recipes that I can make?’ I just focused on breakfasts that have low inflammation. It was able to spit out recipes every morning, Monday through Sunday, for me to try. That’s why I say it’s easy. It’s fun, and it’s accessible. I didn’t have to think too much. It really helped make that whole process easier.”
Mowry understands the significant impact AI can have, especially as a business owner who consistently produces content. Meta AI is not just a tool for the actress but an essential partner in driving engagement and supporting her creative and business ventures through product and program launches.
“I think Meta AI is an accessible assistant… that helps us connect and learn and grow as we navigate through this world. Tech is constantly evolving and growing,” she told AFROTECH?. “Using it from an entertainment industry perspective… Meta AI is a fun way [to] support creators like myself. It’s a way that we can push out programs or push out products or push out initiatives to drive engagement, but not only that, I think as an entrepreneur and as someone who owns a business, I think where we find incredible conversion rates is when we are able to make the consumer’s experience an easier experience, meaning not having to have to think too much. So, Meta AI works great as a thought partner and just helps you streamline ideas and initiatives.”
