What Caused The Singer's Exit From 'The Voice'

While fans eagerly await Adam Levine's return to "The Voice," it's worth revisiting his departure from the show in 2019.

In October 2019,  Levine opened up about his departure from the competition show during an interview on Howard Stern's radio show. Reflecting on his decision, Levine admitted:

"I was ready to not be doing it anymore, I think for a little bit. I think that when it all kind of naturally happened, I was like, 'OK, it feels right.' For better or worse, the moment in which we decided to walk away felt really good. It was the right time for me to go."

Levine described his time on "The Voice" as a "life-altering experience" but emphasized that he needed to prioritize his family. "It got to the point where I got married, I had two kids, and I wanted to spend time with them," he explained.

In February 2023, The Blast reported that Levine's alleged "sexting" with random women on Instagram in 2022 came back to haunt him on Alex Cooper's "Call Her Daddy." In a dramatic teaser, Cooper asked her guest:

"I was a huge Maroon 5 fan, and I'm glad that you agreed to sit down with me today and discuss the scandal surrounding the infidelity in your marriage. How many times did you cheat with women that you met on Instagram?"

The video then abruptly cuts to a black screen, with Levine's voice serenading "She Will Be Loved" in the background. However, in a twist, the podcast guest turns out to be actor Adam Devine, not Adam Levine.

Cooper cleared up the confusion in the podcast, exclaiming, "It's Adam Devine, not Adam Levine, thank f-king God." Devine humorously echoed her relief, saying, "Thank f—king God."

Going by the "Call Her Daddy" podcast teaser, it seemed like Devine had to clear the air to avoid a mistake in identity between him and the musician Adam Levine.

Taking to Instagram, Devine reassured his fanbase that he and his wife, Chloe Bridges were "doing great and going strong." In a heartfelt post, Devine shared a selfie with Bridges, captioned:

"Just want to post this and say that my wife @chloebridges and I are doing great and going strong. I am not Adam Levine. He's a different guy and a worse singer. We are however naming our future baby Sumner."

This playful caption referenced allegations made by Instagram model Sumner Stroh in a TikTok video. Stroh claimed to have had an affair with Levine and shared screenshots alleging that the musician planned to name his new baby after her.
