We all know the drill by now: The live results show brought back the 11 acts who performed on Tuesday — magician Anna DeGuzman, dance group Chibi Unity, singer D’Corey Johnson, vocal group Freedom Singers, musician Kylie Frey, contortionist Mariandrea, stand-up comedian Orlando Leyba, singer Roland Abante, shadow artist Shadow Ace, Puppet Simon & the Cow Belles and acrobat Zion Clark — to find out which pair would move forward to the finals.
Most of the acts listed above stood an equal chance at earning America’s votes, save for Abante, who appeared to be the undeniable frontrunner of this particular group. His performance of Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” from Tuesday’s episode went full-blown viral, garnering 1.2 million YouTube views in less than 24 hours. For comparison, the second most popular video had just over 200,000 views. Many viewers probably assumed that his place in the finale was all but guaranteed.
Wednesday’s episode also welcomed country singer Drake Milligan, last season’s third-place finisher, back to the AGT stage for a special performance.
The two acts sent through on Wednesday join the six already confirmed for the finals — Adrian Stoica & Hurricane, Lavender Darcangelo, Ahren Belisle, Murmuration, Mzansi Youth Choir and Putri Ariani.
Read on for a full breakdown of Wednesday’s results, complete with videos from Tuesday’s performances in case you need a refresher. When you’re finished, drop a comment with you thoughts on the outcome. Did the right two acts go through?
