Alejandro Fernandez Will Pay Homage to His Late Father, Ranchera Icon Vicente on New Tour
Alejandro Fernandez will be honoring his father, the late Vicente Fernandez, on a new tour. On Tuesday, Alejandro announced that he’ll go on the De Rey a Rey arena tour across the United States in 2025 to honor his father’s legacy, playing Vicente’s songs on the road, and releasing an official cover of Chente’s song, “No Me Sé Rajar.”
“I was born with two blessings,” Alejandro wrote on Instagram, sharing poignant clips of himself alongside his father over the years. “First, being born Mexican, and second, being born a Fernandez. These two blessings together symbolize all the strength, tradition, magic, and Mexican music that runs through my blood.”

Fernandez wrote that he was “opening his heart” to Vicente’s fans to celebrate “the sounds of generations and our roots” by performing music by his father, who died in 2021 at 81 years old, on the road. “This tribute is not about me, today it is about Mexico, about Vicente Fernandez in my voice and yours, so that together we can sing those songs that are our cultural heritage,” Alejandro wrote.
Alejandro will kick off his De Rey a Rey tour in Seattle, before stopping in cities such as San Jose, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Miami, and New York. Tickets are set to go on sale on Friday, Oct 25 at 10 a.m. local time.
Alejandro has built a career of his own over the last 30 years, modernizing ranchera music for the 21st century, while honoring the roots of mariachi. Alejandro’s last album arrived in 2024.
“My father taught me many things in life, he taught me to ride a horse, he taught me to wear a charro suit, to sing Mexican music from the heart, the love of the public and the stage,” Alejandro wrote. “But the best thing my father taught was that I, as a good Mexican, no me se rajar… I don’t know how how to give up.”
Alejandro will celebrate the tour announcement by playing two shows at the iconic Plaza de Toros in Mexico City later this week, performing covers of his father’s biggest hits, such as “Volver, Volver,” “El Rey,” “Hermoso Cari?o,” and “Mujeres Divinas.”
