‘Alert: Missing Persons Unit’ Renewed For Season 3 By Fox
EXCLUSIVE: Fox has given a Season 3 pickup to Alert: Missing Persons Unit. The renewal of the procedural drama, starring Scott Caan and Dania Ramirez, has been expected.
To make filming more cost-efficient for series producers Sony Pictures Television and Fox Entertainment, Alert will remain in continuous production, segueing from the abbreviated-by-the-strikes second season to Season 3, whose episode count is still TBD, I hear. There is an additional benefit to filming Seasons 2 and 3 back-to-back — Fox will have fresh episodes of the series in case production is disrupted by an IATSE strike this summer.

There is no word yet on Fox’s other outstanding drama series, The Cleaning Lady. As Deadline has reported, it also is looking good for renewal.
Alert: Missing Persons Unit is set in the Philadelphia Police Department’s Missing Persons Unit (MPU). Each episode features a search for a missing person headed by detectives Jason Grant (Caan) and Nikki Batista (Ramirez). Together with the MPU team, their job is to find the missing or abducted and reunite them with their loved ones.
In Season 2, the MPU team settle into their new office in headquarters, where Jason and Nikki meet their new boss Inspector Hollis Braun (guest star Gil Bellows), who wants to keep a close eye on the team, particularly the unpredictable Jason Grant. Jason brings his old friend in to help with the case: master hacker Wayne Pascal (Alisha-Marie Ahamed), who he worked with in Afghanistan.
Adeola Role and Ryan Broussard also star.
Alert: Missing Persons Unit is averaging 3.9 million multiplatform viewers, up +233% from Live + Same Day. While the drama’s linear ratings have been down year-to-year, its streaming viewership on Hulu has been on an upswing, boosting the series overall ratings performance.
Carla Kettner serves as showrunner and executive producer of Alert: Missing Persons Unit, which is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Fox Entertainment. Jon Cowan, Brandon Sonnier, Brandon Margolis, Sean Hennen, John Eisendrath, Jamie Foxx, Datari Turner and Brad Turner also executive producer.
The Season 2 finale of Alert: Missing Persons Unit airs Tuesday, May 14 at 9 PM on Fox.
