Alex Edelman, Tim Key, Gbemisola Ikumelo and Eric Rahill Join Peacock's “The Office” Spinoff

More stars are heading to The Office spinoff!
Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Tim Key and Eric Rahill are set to join the upcoming Peacock mockumentary series, the streamer announced on Oct. 10.
In addition to their on-screen roles, Rahill, Ikumelo and Edelman will also serve as writers for the series as BJ Novak (Ryan), Mindy Kaling (Kelly) and Paul Lieberstein (Toby) did on the original series.
In May, Peacock revealed that Greg Daniels (who adapted a British version of the show) and Michael Koman were coming together to launch a spinoff of the iconic show. Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore were also named as the leads of the upcoming series.
Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, and Ramona Young are also set to star on the new show.
Shortly after the announcement, Steve Carell — who starred in the original alongside Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer and B. J. Novak — said he was not involved in the new project.
“I will be watching but I will not be showing up,” he told The Hollywood Reporter in May. “It’s just a new thing and there’s really no reason for my character to show up in something like that. But I’m excited about it, it sounds like a great conceit. I love the idea — I guess it’s set in a failing newspaper company."
Krasinski also spoke out about the spinoff in a conversation with PEOPLE on May. He explained that he had no current plans to reprise the role of Jim Halpert on the spinoff but left the door open for possibility.
"I know nothing about it other than I think it's taking place in a newspaper, a local newspaper and that Domhnall Gleeson, who I am working with right now, who’s the sweetest most talented guy, he’s going to crush… whatever it is… he’s going to crush it," he said.
“They haven't asked [for him to return] but the truth is I’d do anything Greg Daniels asked me to do,” he teased.
When it came to advice for the newbies, original cast member Kaling, 45, had some tips.
"Try not to laugh," she said on SiriusXM's The Morning Mash Up on May 15. "I ruined so many takes just because I'd be, like, laughing at Rainn Wilson and Steve Carell. I was not professional."
Ironically, Kaling joked that her character was "supposed to be horrified all the time," but she always struggled to keep a straight face when so many funny people were around.
"In fact, I think I might be laughing on camera," she added. "I'm assuming that cast is gonna be as funny as the one we had, and there's so many great brains behind it, so that would be my thing is just learn not to break on camera."
