The singer stepped out in classic black pumps for the performance. The heels featured a sleek silhouette and a pointed toe, and a stiletto heel about 4 inches tall completed the look.
After 12 years of writing the music and lyrics for the musical, the Grammy Award-winning artist arrived at the Shubert Theatre for the show’s first Broadway showing. Loosely based on Keys’ personal upbringing, the story follows a 17-year-old Ali, played by Maleah Joi Moon, as she explores the energy and music of Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood in the 90s. Along with new numbers, some of the singer’s iconic singles, like “No One” and “Girl on Fire,” are included in the musical’s soundtrack.
Last month, Keys slipped into beige booties to talk about the new musical on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” The singer completed another denim look with the neutral set when attending another opening night performance earlier this month for the new Broadway musical, “The Outsiders.” Following that outing, she walked the red carpet at the 10th Annual Breakthrough Prize Ceremony on April 13 wearing metallic gold sandals.
Pointed-Toe Pumps
Although they have been updated through the years, pointed-toe pumps are a capsule piece that is usually seen at every red carpet event. The classic silhouette is known for its versatility and simplicity, easily being paired with different looks. The set is often remarked for its slim composition with a slender front and thin heel, usually ranging from 3 to 4 inches. The heels are seen throughout the retail market, especially within high-end labels like Stuart Weitzman’s Stuart 100 Pumps, priced at $475, and Christian Louboutin’s So Kate, currently retailing for $795.
