Telugu star Allu Arjun is currently gearing up for the release of his most-awaited film, Pushpa 2: The Rule. The first installment in the film franchise created a massive buzz among the audience and won the actor his first National Film Award. It became one of the most successful Indian movies of the year. While several details about Pushpa 2 have been revealed, the makers have not announced if it will be the final part of the franchise. A new report suggests that Allu Arjun wants to make Pushpa 3, but the director Sukumar is not in favor.

Pushpa: The Rise follows the story of Pushpa Raj, who strives to become a red sandalwood smuggler. However, throughout his journey, he faces many roadblocks and enemies. Pushpa 2: The Rule will cover the aftermath of Pushpa’s rise to power. Rashmika Mandanna played the leading lady, while Fahadh Faasil portrayed the main antagonist.

Will there be a Pushpa 3?

According to a report by OTTplay, Sukumar has left a cliffhanger by the end of Pushpa 2. However, he is still unwilling to make a third part. A source close to the development said, “Though Sukumar has written Pushpa 2’s climax in such a way that it will leave a hook for the third part, the director feels that things can go wrong if the plot and characters are dragged way too much.”

The report further claimed that Sukumar has plans to make a movie with Ram Charan following Pushpa 2. The discussions around the story have already begun. Therefore, the discussion about Pushpa 3 is now between Allu Arjun and Sukumar. It is also being reported that Sukumar feels the third installment in the Pushpa franchise can be made in a few years as per the success of Pushpa 2. Now, only the makers can confirm if there will be a Pushpa 3.

Pushpa 2 will hit the theaters on August 15, 2024.
