'I will always love her': Brian Austin Green confirms split with Megan Fox
After nearly 10 years of marriage and three children together, Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green have split.
The "Beverly Hills, 90210" star confirmed the news on his podcast “…With Brian Austin Green," in an episode titled “Context.”
The actor said the couple became more distant when Fox was working out of the country for roughly five weeks shooting a film last year. He explained that since the end of 2019, they had been spending more time apart.
"Neither one of us did anything to each other," he clarified. "She's always been honest with me. I've always been honest with her. We've had an amazing relationship."
“I will always love her,” Green continued on his podcast. “And I know she will always love me and I know as far as a family, what we have built is really cool and really special.” He said the former couple will “still do family vacations and holidays as a family and really make that a focus for the kids.”
Fox, 33, and Green, 46, shared rare family photos last Halloween on Instagram with their sons Noah, 7, Bodhi, 6, and Journey, 3.
He and Fox met in 2004 when Green guest-starred on the series "Hope & Faith" when Fox was 18 and he was 30. They became engaged in 2006 but broke it off before eventually marrying in June 2010.
They initially split in 2015, with Fox citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for separation in her divorce filing. But after Fox became pregnant with their son Journey, the couple reconciled.
“It sucks when life changes and something that you’re used to, that you’ve been doing for 15 years, you try and not get rid of but you change. There’s the unknown aspect … there’s that pit in my stomach," Green said, getting choked up. "I really don’t want Megan and I to be at odds. … She’s been my best friend for 15 years and I don’t want to lose that.”
How will the couple handle a new normal?
"Megan and I talked a lot about it, and a big concern for both of us … people talk (expletive) about the fact that she's younger than me and all that, but she's really a responsible person, and she really loves the kids and cares about what their life and their experience is."
Rumors about the couple's split surfaced after Fox was recently photographed in a car with Machine Gun Kelly, her co-star in the upcoming film "Midnight In the Switchgrass." Green spoke about Kelly, saying he's never met him. "Megan and I have talked about him," he said. "They’re friends at this point. … I don’t want people to think her or he are villains or that I was a victim in any way.”
