‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2′ Helmer Marc Webb To Be Feted By Italy’s Ischia Global Fest
ROME – Marc Webb, director of “The Amazing Spider-Man 2,” will be celebrated by Italy’s Ischia Global Film and Music Fest where he will hold a master class on the Sony superhero pic which is currently soaring at the U.S. box office.
The U.S. helmer will receive a best director of the year award at the fest on the Italo isle off the coast of Naples. Webb will split the honor with Italo helmer Paolo Virzi, whose stylish drama “Human Capital” recently screened at Tribeca and has been sold around the world. Virzi will also be feted at the informal Ischia shindig with a best director nod.
Ischia, which is headed by Italo TV journo Pascal Vicedomini and chaired by US producer Mark Canton, with Trudie Styler serving as honorary president this year, will run July 12-20.
