'Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams': Amazon sets January premiere
Amazon has revealed the U.S launch date for its big-budget sci-fi co-production Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams. The streaming service will launch all ten episodes of the Sony Pictures Television-produced drama on January 12. You can watch the official trailer below.
The launch comes after Channel 4 began airing the anthology series in the UK in October. The dystopian drama has been averaging between 600,000 and 1M overnights viewers in the UK since its launch, behind similarly dystopian thriller The Handmaid’s Tale, which aired in a similar slot on the channel.
Amazon secured the U.S rights to the series after cable network AMC pulled out of the development process at the start of 2017.
The series, which is exec produced by Ronald D. Moore, Bryan Cranston, Michael Dinner and David Kanter, will also air on Amazon in Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Latin America, Spain and Turkey. It airs on Stan in Australia and Space in Canada.
Each episode is based on a different Dick short story and features talent including Richard Madden, Steve Buscemi, Anna Paquin and Greg Kinnear.
