America Ferrera 'over the moon' after giving birth to daughter Lucia in time for Mother's Day
America Ferrera's newborn daughter picked the perfect time to enter the world, just in time for Mother's Day.
Ferrera, 36, announced the birth of her second child with husband Ryan Piers Williams Sunday, welcoming daughter Lucia Marisol with an Instagram post featuring the newborn's little hands clutched by each family member. (Son Sebastian turns 2 later this month.)
"Lucia Marisol Williams arrived on May 4th to give me my Mother’s Day hugs and kisses herself," Ferrera wrote. "Mama, Dada & Big Brother are over the moon to welcome her bright light to our family."
The "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" alum had announced on Instagram on New Year's Eve that she was expecting the child.

"So much to look forward to in 2020, but one thing in particular sticks out! Can’t wait to welcome another beautiful creature into this world. Happy New Years!" she wrote at the time.
2020 has been trying, with the coronavirus pandemic that has shut down the nation. The baby shower for Lucia, thrown by Eva Longoria and activist Elsa Marie Collins, had to be canceled. But items were still donated to children and families living on the U.S.-Mexico border.
"Quarantine may have canceled her Baby Shower but it didn’t stop us from collecting and delivering essential supplies to #YesWeCanMobileSchools - spaces for moms and children at the border to learn, play, and stay safe through these hard times." Ferrera wrote in the post, which featured videos of families receiving the vital supplies.
