‘Idol’ Alum Todrick Hall Uses Taylor Swift's ‘Shake It Off’ to Raise Traffic Safety Awareness (Video)
Todrick Hall, the viral video master and “American Idol” alum who recently landed his own unscripted series on MTV, is out with a new PSA aimed at driver and pedestrian safety.
In “Alice in WeHoLand,” commissioned by the City of West Hollywood following a series of traffic accidents in the Los Angeles adjacent city's pedestrian-heavy streets, Hall stars alongside “RuPaul's Drag Race” Season 4 contestant favorite Willam Belli and YouTube personality GloZell Green in a parody set to the tune of Taylor Swift‘s “Shake It Off.”
In the YouTube video, posted this week leading up to West Hollywood's Halloween Carnaval gathering (the nation's largest), Hall demonstrates the dangers that can occur when both pedestrians and drivers aren't paying attention.

“All these distractions… Tryin’ to get some action… But gurl you can't keep crashin'… That ain't cute, and you gotta look fly tonight,” the parody's lyrics go.
The video was commissioned by the city as part of its increased pedestrian safety operation following the August death of popular city resident Clinton Bounds, who at age 62 was struck and killed by a car on Santa Monica Boulevard. His death followed another major pedestrian accident in June, in which the victim survived.
Hall, a semi-finalist in “Idol's 9th Season who's been managed by Scooter Braun since 2013, has made a name for himself through his incredible star-filled YouTube channel, which has over 1 million subscribers and 145 million views.
