Angelina Jolie Embraces Old Hollywood Glamour in Tamara Ralph at the Premiere of ‘Maria’ During the Venice Film Festival 2024
Angelina Jolie made an elegant entrance at the red carpet premiere of her latest film, “Maria,” during the 2024 Venice Film Festival on Thursday.
The actress sported a custom Tamara Ralph ensemble consisting of an asymmetrical draped chiffon gown and a faux fur stole. A gold rose brooch and bold red lips completed her look, which featured minimal jewelry.

Earlier in the day, Jolie stepped out in a brown Saint Laurent dress with geometric stitching along the bodice. The actress added on matching pumps, tortoiseshell shades and a square-cut diamond ring.
Jolie wore her highlighted brunette tresses in a side part, while her makeup consisted of taupe eye shadow and a bare lip.
For the “Maria” photo call, Jolie changed into another Saint Laurent look: a black round-neck gown, which she adorned with a vintage Cartier Panthère brooch. Jolie also added on Wayfarer sunglasses.
In Pablo Larraín’s new biopic, Jolie portrays legendary soprano Maria Callas. Set in 1970s Paris, the film follows the final years of her life.
On Friday, WWD exclusively revealed Jolie as Tom Ford Beauty’s first celebrity spokesmodel.
In new campaign imagery, Jolie models the brand’s hero Runway Lip Color shade, Scarlet Rouge. “It’s a beautiful color and texture,” the actress said via email. “A good red lip needs little else. It’s worn with intention. That was part of the discussion.”
The Venice Film Festival, held annually in Italy, features new motion pictures from around the world. The 2024 jury is led by actress Isabelle Huppert, while this year’s festival includes high-profile premieres of Tim Burton’s “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” Pedro Almodovar’s “The Room Next Door” and Todd Phillips’ “Joker: Folie à Deux” among other films.
