Angelina Jolie Means Business in Menswear-inspired Look for ‘Maria’ Premiere at London Film Festival 2024
Angelina Jolie suited up for the London Film Festival premiere of her forthcoming film “Maria” on Friday. The actress stars in the Pablo Larraín-directed biopic about legendary opera singer Maria Callas.
For the red carpet occasion, Jolie opted for streamlined suited attire — a stark juxtaposition to the gowns and dresses she’s worn throughout her “Maria” promotional tour. Jolie opted for a three-piece, menswear-inspired look, featuring a single-breasted jacket, relaxed vest and distressed trousers.

Jolie continued the black monochrome motif down to her footwear, opting for a pair of square-toed, high-heeled boots. When it came to her accessories, Jolie added a pop of color, favoring a pair of gold statement earrings.
The actress’ promotional tour for “Maria” kicked off during the Venice Film Festival last August. For the red carpet premiere, Jolie’s attire harkened back to Old Hollywood glamour, wearing an asymmetrical draped chiffon gown and a faux fur stole courtesy of Tamara Ralph.
The “Girl, Interrupted” Oscar winner continued her classic glamour style streak up until the London Film Festival premiere of “Maria.” At the New York Film Festival premiere of the film last September, Jolie, joined by three of her children, opted for a look inspired by golden age glitz.
The actress wore a vintage dress courtesy of Madame Grès. The flowing, sleeveless look featured a cinched waist with subtle ruching on the white fabric. Jolie accessorized the look with a pair of black heels and sparse glittering pieces of silver jewelry.
Jolie is not the only celebrity to recently opt for the menswear trend. While promoting “The Last Showgirl” during the Toronto International Film Festival last September, Pamela Anderson favored her own take on deconstructed menswear.
The 2024 London Film Festival kicked off on Oct. 9 and will conclude on Oct. 20. Steve McQueen’s “Blitz” held its world premiere on the opening night of the festival. Other films featured during the 2024 showcase include “Queer” starring Daniel Craig, Sean Baker’s “Anora” and more.
