Angry Grandpa, Cranky YouTube Sensation, Dies at 67
Charlie Green Jr, better known as YouTube personality Angry Grandpa (AGP), died Sunday after a short battle with skin cancer. He was 67.
His son Michael announced the news on Twitter, saying, “Heaven just got a whole lot angrier. Dad, I’m going to miss you more than I even understand as I write this. I already miss you more than you’ll ever know. I’m so sorry that you couldn’t enjoy your fame longer but I’m so happy that the last 10 years of your life had a purpose.”

The former firefighter became a social media superstar with his cantankerous videos, which were featured on HLN’s “Dr. Drew,” TruTV’s “Rude Tube” and MTV’s “Pranked.” His “The Angry Grandpa Show” moved to YouTube, where it amassed more than 3 million subscribers and more than 627 million views earlier this year. On his second channel, Grandpa’s Corner, he shared personal stories, read viewer mail and made cooking videos.
In February, as a camera rolled, he told Michael he had cancer. At first, Michael thought his father was pranking him, but AGP broke down and told him it was true. Their heart-wrenching conversation can be seen in the video below.

Although the cancer was in remission for a few months, in July he was hospitalized and diagnosed with cirrhosis. Last month, he tweeted a message to his fans (known as “Grandpa’s Army”), “SOMEONE TELL DEATH TO KISS MY ASS! I AIN’T READY YET!!!!!”
AGP is survived by five children, nine grandchildren and a fiancé.
