Anna Kendrick and Jimmy Fallon sing 'Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)'
On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Anna Kendrick got to join Jimmy Fallon and The Roots in singing “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” along with the R&B songstress Darlene Love. The group grabbed schoolroom instruments and wore Christmas-themed outfits — matching white sweaters with red and white accessories.
Love recorded the song back in 1963 for a holiday compilation album. She has won numerous awards and accolades during her career, including being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Kendrick was clearly excited to have the opportunity to sing with a musical legend.
The song has stood the test of time, with Love’s soulful and emotional voice singing the beautiful lyrics of a woman asking her love to come home soon: “The church bells in town are ringing in song. Full of happy songs, baby please come home. They’re singing deck the halls, but it’s not like Christmas at all ’cause I remember when you were here and all the fun we had last year.”
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on NBC. Watch clips and full episodes of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon free on Yahoo View.
