Anti-Semitic Group Rallies Support for Ye on Los Angeles Freeway: ‘Kanye Is Right About the Jews’
An anti-Semitic group rallied support for Kanye “Ye” West with a message displayed on the Los Angeles 405 freeway Saturday: “Kanye is right about the Jews.”
The banner hung alongside others that read, “Honk If You Know,” with another presenting bible verses, as several people displaying the banners raised their arms in a Nazi salute. The nonpartisan organization Stop Antisemitism identified the exhibition as the work of the white supremacist group Goyim Defense League, which the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) classifies as a “loose network of individuals connected by their virulent antisemitism.”

The anti-Semitic effort comes weeks after Ye tweeted he would go “death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE,” referring to the military readiness condition “DEFCON,” which kickstarted his lock from Instagram and Twitter in response to his hateful comments.
Despite apologizing for his comments in an interview with Piers Morgan Wednesday, Morgan grilled the rapper on the impact of his speech, to which Ye responded sarcastically, “God forbid one comment could cause people to feel any of the pain that my people have went though for years.”
The ADL’s Southern California branch condemned the rally Sunday as an “Outrageous effort to fan the flames of antisemitism gripping the nation.” “This group is known for espousing vitriolic #antisemitism and white supremacist ideology,” the group tweeted. “Hate has no place in Los Angeles or elsewhere and these attempts will not divide us.”

The group is also currently leading an effort, titled #RunAwayFromHate, to encourage one of Ye’s biggest partners, Adidas, to sever ties with him, claiming the athletic brand “has not only remained silent but has doubled down on their relationship by planning to release new Kanye products on the fourth anniversary of the Pittsburgh synagogue massacre on October 27th.”
“While Adidas has refused to condemn Kanye West’s antisemitism, hate groups like White Lives Matter and the Goyim Defense League are celebrating and promoting Ye’s comments to further their extremist agendas,” the organization said.
Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action, a grassroots movement addressing gun violence in America, echoed the demand, tweeting “We are waiting @adidas.”
Balenciaga became the latest brand to end its relationship with the artist Saturday, telling WWD the company has “no longer any relationship nor any plans for future projects related to this artist.”
Similar to Ye’s move to conservative social media platforms after his lock from Twitter and Instagram sparked his interest to buy conservative platform Parler, the ADL also notes the group operates GoyimTV, a video platform that streams anti-Semitic content.
