Anya Taylor-Toy Wore Three Celine Looks and Shoes in One Day for ‘The Gorge’ Press Tour in New York City
Anya-Taylor Joy surely garnered some second glances on the streets of New York City yesterday, stepping out in three ultra-chic Celine outfits while on the press circuit for her upcoming Apple TV+ film “The Gorge.”
The award-winning actress, whose role in the forthcoming action film sees her step into the role of a skilled sniper, first hit the “Today” show in a black-and-white houndstooth blazer and matching miniskirt paired with glossy black boots.

She styled the collarless jacket and skirt crafted in wool tweed with knee-high patent leather boots featuring an asymmetrical design with the topline higher in the front than in the back. The sleek, riding-inspired style from Celine’s Fall 2024 collection was complete with a block heel that looked to be about three inches.
Taylor-Joy’s next ensemble from Celine by Hedi Slimane saw her embrace a full-on ’60s aesthetic. The “Queen’s Gambit” star donned another collarless cropped wool jacket and a coordinating miniskirt, this time in dark gray with bright white piping, pockets, and buttons. She again slipped on knee-high boots again, opting for a white go-go style that screamed 1960s fashion. The slouchy silhouette also featured a rounded toe but had a lower heel.
Heading to “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” later, the Golden Globe winner upped the glamour for the nighttime appearance. She sported a black wool crop top with a dramatic cape boasting an embellished collar and short shorts. As for shoes, she reached for Christian Louboutin’s foot-flattering Iriza pump. The red-soled heels feature a point-toed silhouette with d’Orsay sides that highlight the arches of the foot. She wore the same Louboutin pumps in a nude patent leather finish with a head-turning Alexander McQueen look that day.
Taylor-Joy, who was named a Dior global ambassador in 2021, has become known for her retro-influenced fashion moments since rising to fame. Looking at her street style and red carpet looks over the years, it’s evident that she takes inspiration from prior decades, from the ’50s to the ’80s, when getting dressed.
The Emmy-nominated actress touched on her part in “The Gorge” in an interview with WWD at the Dior show in Paris last month. “I’m an elite sniper,” she shared, revealing that she trained “vigorously, very intensely” for the film. The thriller co-starring Miles Teller will be available to stream on Apple TV+ on Feb. 14.
