The Archbishop of Canterbury Offers Advice Amid ‘Royal Rift’

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, is speaking out about the rumored "rift" that has senior royals at odds with other members of the family.
During a Thursday, May 9, appearance on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, Welby expressed a rather graceful opinion aimed at royal watchers.
When asked about Prince Harry’s estrangement from his brother, father, and the rest of the royal family, the 68-year-old told Good Morning Britain correspondent Jonathan Swain, "We must not judge them. They’re human beings, they must not be judged."
Welby continued, "They need to be prayed for and supported."
The archbishop's comments come at a time when the family's relationships with one another have come under immense scrutiny and speculation from onlookers.
Hours before Welby spoke with the talk show, fans of the family claimed King Charles III "snubbed" his youngest son by handing over one of his roles to his eldest son, Prince William.
Several publications reported on May 8 that Buckingham Palace announced that a military title Charles held as the former Prince of Wales for over 30 years would be going to William: "His Majesty the King will officially hand over the role of Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps to His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales." While both brothers spent time as pilots in the British military, only Harry saw active combat.
And one day prior to those accusations, it was revealed that the 75-year-old cancer-stricken monarch would not be making time to see Harry during his brief return to the UK for the 10th anniversary of his Invictus Games–something fans saw as another very public dig.
