Ariana Grande Is Dropping a Short Film With the ‘Eternal Sunshine’ Deluxe Album

Ariana Grande is back with more music after a very pink and bubbly press run for Wicked. Nearly a year after she dropped her Grammy-nominated seventh album, Eternal Sunshine, Ari is expanding her musical universe with Eternal Sunshine Deluxe: Brighter Days Ahead on March 28.
Track listing for the extended deluxe version hasn’t been announced just yet, but in October 2024, Ariana released a “slightly deluxe (and also live)” version of Eternal Sunshine featuring remixes of “Supernatural” with Troye Sivan and “The Boy Is Mine” with Brandy and Monica. The original version of the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and earned Ari two No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100: “Yes, And?” and “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love).”
That’s not all, though. She’s also gifting Arianators a short film, Brighter Days Ahead, along with new tracks on the album.
The film’s title references the 2004 movie starring Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet that inspired her album, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. She also calls back to the flick in her music video for “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love),” where critically acclaimed actor Evan Peters starred as her love interest and was erased from her memory at the Brighter Days Inc. clinic.
The multihyphenate also dropped a Brighter Days Easter egg in her Catwoman-inspired music video for “The Boy Is Mine.” As her character watches a news program featuring Brandy, Monica, and Penn Badgley, a commercial for the clinic plays on her TV, saying, “Call Brighter Days today for an even better tomorrow.”
Details regarding the newness coming to Ari’s Eternal Sunshine cinematic universe are being kept under wraps, but there’s a chance we’ll see the singer’s characters return to our screens. It’s unclear whether Penn, Brandy, Monica, and Evan will be coming back, too, but we can only hope for more cameos. Either way, we are simply seated for Miss Ariana’s return to pop.
