Ashton Kutcher Is Warned to ‘Pick His Friends Better’ Amid Hollywood Scandals
Ashton Kutcher is seemingly riding high with his upcoming Ryan Murphy series, The Beauty. He will be co-starring with Evan Peters, Anthony Ramos, and Jeremy Pope which is great news for his career, but critics aren’t forgetting his close association with Sean “Diddy” Combs and Danny Masterson.
While Kutcher hasn’t been accused of any crimes himself, his inner circle might need to change after back-to-back scandals. “Ashton needs to pick his friends better,” an entertainment industry insider told In Touch Weekly. “The spotlight has turned on him for reveling in his relationships with a couple of Hollywood’s most notorious stars. He’s going to have a tough time salvaging his career after this Diddy mess!”

So far, the Combs’ legal issues with sex trafficking haven’t affected his reported November start date for the FX show, but it’s not hard to look back on how he praised the controversial rapper in the past. Kutcher said on The Late Late Show With James Corden in 2018, “If you’re a single man, there’s probably no greater human being in the world to hang out [with]. This is 20 years ago-19 years ago. We were having a lot of fun together.”
This controversy comes on the heels of Kutcher and wife Mila Kunis’ support of Masterson after he was convicted of two rapes in the Church of Scientology. “As a friend, Danny has been nothing but a positive influence on me,” the 46-year-old actor wrote while asking the judge for leniency in Masterson’s case. “He’s an extraordinarily honest and intentional human being. He set a standard of being a hands-on dad. We have spent countless hours together with our kids and he is among few people that I would trust to be alone with my son and daughter. He’s also a dedicated and loyal husband with unwavering commitment to his wife.”
Kutcher has reportedly tried to stay far away from the Combs’ news in the wake of the Masterson backlash. “Regardless of Ashton’s long history with him, he has distanced himself from Diddy since Cassie’s lawsuit, and even more so in the wake of the new ones,” a source told the Daily Mail in April. “Mila will not let Ashton be in any sort of contact. He is expecting a subpoena as they have been friends for two decades.”
That doesn’t sound like good news for Kutcher, who might be reassessing his inner circle because Masterson nor Combs have done anything good for his Hollywood reputation.
