ATEEZ captures audience’s hearts in return to Oakland Arena

OAKLAND, Calif. (KRON) — ATEEZ took the Oakland Arena by storm Wednesday night. Before the K-pop boy group from South Korea took to the stage, the crowd was already cheering and chanting their name.

The group started the night off with one of its most popular songs “Crazy Form.” The audience was captivated by the eight performers, singing with the group, screaming whenever their favorite member came on camera and waving their lightsticks that lit up Oakland Arena.

The eight members of ATEEZ are HONGJOONG, SEONGHWA, YUNHO, YEOSANG, SAN, MINGI, WOOYOUNG, and JONGHO.

And each of them brought their own style to the night.

From the leader HONGJOONG to the suave SAN, or the capturing voice of JONGHO, all of them shined brightly. The concert showcased the group’s strengths from singing to dancing and even acting.

Throughout the night, ATEEZ was interacting with the crowd and their fans known as “ATINY.”

One of the best examples was during the song “Guerrilla.” ATINY screamed at the top of their lungs “break the wall” throughout the song. The K-pop group was very attentive to their fans and made sure the high energy was kept up the entire night. It was infectious.

During the three-hour concert, ATEEZ sang many of their hit songs including “BOUNCY,” “ARRIBA” and “WORK.”

“WORK” is a song from their most recent EP called “GOLDEN HOUR” and is currently their top song on Spotify.

ATEEZ’s performance in Oakland of “WORK” was the first time it has been performed in the United States. Not only did ATINY scream along to “WORK,” but they also showed how much they love the group’s newest EP with their wallets.

According to Billboard, ATEEZ’s “Golden Hour” ranked seventh in the Top Selling Albums in the United States for 2024.

ATEEZ is currently on its fourth world tour, and it is especially meaningful to the boy group. The tour is called “Towards the Light.” During the concert, they referenced their journey as a group and as individuals. They told the crowd that no matter what people say or think about you, always remember that you are special.

They said, “we hope our message becomes a strength for ATINY.”

Wednesday was their second time performing in the Bay Area. ATEEZ performed at Oakland Arena back in 2022.

Since then, they have performed all over the world and have been featured in music festivals such as Coachella. Ateez was the first K-pop boy group to perform at the famous music festival.
