Megyn Kelly on Gretchen Carlson’s Miss America scandal: “I have no idea what Gretchen has done.”
On Thursday’s episode of Megyn Kelly Today, Kelly was put on the spot about her former colleague Gretchen Carlson and the Miss America scandal.
On Aug. 17, the current Miss America, Cara Mund, wrote a letter on her Facebook page accusing the pageant’s chair, former Fox News host Gretchen Carlson, of workplace bullying, saying in part, “Our chair and CEO have systematically silenced me, reduced me, marginalized me, and essentially erased me in my role as Miss America.”
Mund said that she was purposefully excluded from appearances like the one announcing the cancellation of the swimsuit competition and was told to stick to these three talking points:
Miss America is relevant.

Carlson denied Mund’s claims, saying, “I have never bullied or silenced you.”
During a discussion on Thursday’s show, Craig Melvin asked Kelly, “You know Gretchen Carlson. Some of the stuff she claims, do you find it believable?”
Kelly cautiously answered, “You’re not going to touch it. Look, I have no idea what Gretchen has done at the Miss America pageant. No idea. I’m just going to leave it at that.”
Kelly didn’t speak more about Carlson, but she couldn’t help calling back to the awkwardness when she threw to commercial later in the segment, saying, “We’ll come back in just a minute to find out what my friends’ worst fears are. Mine is about being asked private information from my Fox News years.”
