More than meets the Bat-eye: Exclusive sneak peek at 4-in-1 transforming Batman set
Move over, Optimus Prime: the Dark Knight is getting into the transforming game. Spin Master is launching its biggest Batman product ever — the Gotham Guardian Playset — and Yahoo Entertainment has your exclusive first look at this 2.5-foot-tall interactive toy, available now for $99.99 on Amazon and Oct. 1 at Target.
And when you buy the Gotham Guardian Playset, you're not just getting one toy — you're getting four. The tallest form is a towering robot version of Batman, complete with oversized legs and arms. Thankfully, he comes with enough extra room to carry an included 4-inch Batman figure around.
But wait! With only a few twists, turns and folds, you can transform that Gundam-esque Bat-bot into the Batmobile. Take it for a spin around your living room floor and be prepared to eject the Batcycle when you get your first Joker sighting.
From there, you're just a short transformation away from turning the Batmobile into the Batwing. Special stickers allow you to emblazon the high-tech plane's wings with Bat-decals. In all of its forms, the Gotham Guardian Playset has lights and sounds that make you feel like you're really riding shotgun alongside Gotham City's champion.
The Gotham Guardian Playset is the current crown jewel among Spin Master's Bat-offerings, but the company has other new Dark Knight toys on shelves right now, including a 12-inch Batman Adventures figure that retails for $19.99 and comes with a plethora of accessories for whatever adventure he's about to embark on.
And there's also the Stunt Force Batmobile RC, which retails for $39.99 and lets you flip, spin and drift Batman's signature ride. And good news parents — it's an inside toy that won't damage the walls or floors of your own private Batcave.
