Ben Affleck Purchased His L.A. Home on Jennifer Lopez's Birthday, the Same Day She Finalized Sale on Her N.Y.C. Condo

Ben Affleck and Jennifer LopezBen Affleck closed escrow on his new $20.5 million house in Los Angeles on the same day that Jennifer Lopez finalized the sale of her New York City condo. Both transactions occurred on Wednesday, July 24, Lopez's birthday, PEOPLE confirms.
Affleck, 51, purchased the 5-bedroom L.A. estate days after he and Lopez, 55, publicly listed their Beverly Hills mansion for $68,000,000 on Thursday, July 11. The couple, who purchased the 12-bedroom, 24-bathroom home for $60,850,000 in May 2023, initially attempted to sell the property off-market.
Affleck's new equestrian estate, which also has six bathrooms, was designed by architect Cliff May. The penthouse Lopez sold is a four-bedroom, 7.5-bath duplex.
The real estate transactions come amid a period where the couple are spending time apart. Lopez spent her milestone birthday in New York while Affleck remained in California.

Lopez kicked off her birthday festivities with a Bridgerton-themed party in the Hamptons on Saturday, July 20.
While numerous guests, including Lopez's mother Guadalupe Rodríguez, were spotted arriving at the festivities, multiple sources confirmed to PEOPLE that Affleck was not in attendance.
The actor has spent most of the summer working on the production of The Accountant 2 in Los Angeles. Although the movie has wrapped filming, he and Lopez have continued to spend time apart on different coasts, including during the Fourth of July holiday and their two-year wedding anniversary.
During her time on the East Coast, Lopez has been seen on bike rides, hitting the gym, and spending time with Affleck’s 18-year-old daughter, Violet.

A source recently told PEOPLE that "her summer isn't exactly what she originally had planned, but she's making the best of it."
"She's always grateful for family time," the source said. "She had a great weekend with family and friends. She loves entertaining and enjoyed her birthday bash. She was in a happy mood."
In a letter to her Instagram followers a day after her birthday, the actress said she was "completely overwhelmed" by her fans' well wishes and support.
