Big Brother Eviction Recap: A ‘Jankie’ Week Breaks Up the Power Trio — Who Went to Jury?

Surely the Big Brother houseguests never thought they’d miss Ainsley and her creepy blue visage. But that was before they met Jankie, with his cute smile and perky voice and deranged, pizza- and ice cream-fueled dance parties.

Indeed, the houseguests’ time in Jankie World has made them all go a bit berserk, from the endless tears after the Power of Veto ceremony to Chelsie’s apparent jealousy when Cam moved his sleep cot to be closer to Makensy’s. (“You’re being annoying and you’re being a jerk,” Chelsie told Cam when he asked what he’d done to upset her, proving that not only have we traveled to Jankie World this week, but we’ve also gone back to the seventh grade.)

Most importantly, though, this extended stay in the Big Brother backyard gave the houseguests plenty of time to overthink whether T’kor or Rubina ought to become the next jury member, with Kimo having been saved by Angela’s veto. This week, only five players — Kimo, Chelsie, Cam, Makensy and Angela — would cast votes to evict, and either nominee would need three votes to stay. Angela has wanted T’kor out all week, so her vote was a no-brainer; Makensy seemed to understand that if T’kor weren’t voted out this week, she could very well win the entire season; and Chelsie, on the flip side, had been aligned with T’kor just often enough this summer that she planned to evict Rubina instead.

As for Kimo, his decision was ostensibly up in the air, seeing as his two besties were on the block together… but when Rubina tried to campaign for Kimo’s vote, he dropped some not-so-subtle hints that he planned to keep T’kor over Rubina (and perhaps already felt Rubina’s eviction fate was sealed). That left us with Cam as this week’s big swing vote — an unexpected position for him to be in, as he’s made a point of ruffling as few feathers as possible all season. And though Cam seemed keenly aware of the threat T’kor posed to the other players — her social game has been so sterling that she didn’t touch the nomination block until this week — he also felt uneasy about potentially clashing with Chelsie, who seemed set on keeping T’kor in the game.

Color me surprised, then, that when the live voting got underway, the vote was much more lopsided than those pre-taped segments led us to believe. Kimo was ultimately the only houseguest who voted for T’kor to stay, and T’kor became the season’s second jury member in a 4-1 vote. (Chelsie’s vote was a surprise at first, but in her goodbye message to T’kor, she indicated that she had no choice but to vote with the house once she realized Rubina had the votes to stay.) T’kor kept it classy and sweet in her post-game interview, of course, even getting emotional when she realized she was leaving the game with some true friendships.

And hey! We even got a live Head of Household competition this week! Well, the start of one, at least. For this game, the six competitors were each set up in different rooms of the BB house, where they were tasked with stacking interlocking puzzle pieces shaped like different candies and sweets. When each houseguest feels they have enough pieces stacked to beat their opponents, they must buzz in at some point before the one-hour timer is up; whomever stacks the most pieces in the shortest amount of time will become HOH. We’ll have to keep up with the live feeds to find out who wins later tonight, but by the time credits rolled, Angela had a solid stack going… while Cam had nothing.

With that, I hand it over to you. How do you feel about T’kor’s eviction? And who do you want to see crowned the next Head of Household? Drop a comment below!
