Big Brother Reindeer Games Isn’t Happening This Year — Find Out Why
Big Brother can stuff those elf costumes into storage for the foreseeable future.
TVLine has confirmed that the CBS competition’s Reindeer Games spinoff will not be back for a second season in 2024 — a product of CBS’ already-packed late-year schedule.

“Because we started so late this season and CBS’ fall schedule starts so late this season, everything just pushes back,” executive producer Rich Meehan told EW.com, which broke the news. “So if there’s not airtime, there’s not much you can do for that.”
Meehan added, though, that Reindeer Games could return to the network’s holiday lineup for 2025.
“Reindeer Games is one of our favorite things that we’ve done recently,” he said. “Hopefully, we’re in a new year and everything looks like it’s going to be smooth sailing and everything’s worked out, so hopefully, maybe next year. That’s the goal.”
Big Brother’s Best and Worst Winners, Ranked
Big Brother Reindeer Games aired its first season last December, welcoming back nine series alumni: Cody Calafiore, Nicole Franzel, Frankie Grande, Taylor Hale, Cameron Hardin, Britney Haynes, Josh Martinez, Xavier Prather and Danielle Reyes. But this time, the show did away with its usual eviction format and 24/7 live feeds, instead pitting contestants against each other in a two-week marathon of Christmas-themed competitions, including Santa’s Showdown, which determined the player that would go home in each episode.
Franzel and Hale were ultimately the last two players standing, and Franzel came away as the first Reindeer Games champion after winning one last competition.
The Big Brother mothership, meanwhile, just wrapped its 26th season on Oct. 13, with Chelsie Baham winning unanimously over runner-up Makensy Manbeck. (Read our full finale recap here.) The show is expected to return for Season 27 sometime next summer.
