'Halloween' movie billboard hijacked by GOP artist, replacing Michael Myers with Maxine Waters
A billboard for the new Halloween film starring Jamie Lee Curtis was hijacked by a conservative street artist to send a message to “uncivil Democrats.”
The giant ad at Pico Boulevard in West Hollywood was similar to others in the city until artist Sabo gave it a makeover, putting a maniacal-looking image of Congresswoman Maxine Waters’s face where big-screen serial killer Michael Myers’s image had been. The Democratic representative for California’s 43rd Congressional District appears to be wielding a knife in the altered version, and the hashtag “uncivil Democrats” was added to the billboard.
Sabo, sometimes called the GOP’s Banksy, took credit for the prank, according to the Hollywood Reporter. He said the hashtag is a reference to a comment Waters made in L.A. in June, after White House press secretary Sarah Sanders was kicked out restaurant in Virginia, telling Democrats that if they see notable Republican politicians, particularly those in Trump’s Cabinet, “in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station,” they should “get out and you create a crowd. You push back on them and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere.” Since then, several notable Republicans have been confronted in public places, including Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake.
Sabo’s revamped image has been all over social media on Friday, widely enjoyed — and shared — by conservatives.
#Sabo deserves a Presidental Medal of Freedom for all his work:

Of course the #democrats will whine about how horrible this is. This is a what a REAL peaceful protest looks like – one that I totally agree with. The only one who should be offended by this is Michael Meyers. #uncivildemocrats https://t.co/LrILK85Ulb

Sabo has done this type of thing before. In February, he took over three billboards in L.A., inspired by the movie Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, to attack the entertainment industry for failing to tackle widespread sexual misconduct. They said things like: “And the Oscar for biggest pedophile goes to…” He also put up posts of Meryl Streep with the words “she knew” in reference to her ties to Harvey Weinstein.
The highly anticipated Halloween flick, a sequel to the 1978 original and once again starring Curtis, opens Friday and is expected to popular at the box office.
